“Trek Yam Achziv” is a local tourism and attractions company located in the protected area of Achziv in the north of the country (close to the border with Lebanon). Our company has been engaged in the field of extreme boats for over 45 years, and we are proud owners of a fleet consisting of 7 extreme boats from different manufacturers. Over the years, like many of our colleagues and basically every RIB boat owner, we have faced many challenges with our boats related to the harsh weather conditions in the Middle East, high temperatures most of the year, humidity, UV exposure, etc. In the past, these were problems related to the pipe: fabric tears, punches and glued accessories (rope, handles) torn from the pipe. Other challenges we had to face over the years were related to the design of our boats hull, which would limit us from working in slightly higher waves while keeping our passengers safe. Our turning point came just before COVID-19 hit the world.
In the middle of the peak season of the summer, during a routine trip with passengers, the pipe broke in one of the boats and had to be replaced, we could not find a replacement for the descent in a reasonable time frame, because of this, the boat had to be replaced. to close for the whole season. This experience, together with the closures that came with the epidemic led us to think about how we improve the robustness of our boats, and to delve less into outside support. We started researching, reading articles, looking for professional people who could help us reach our goals. With the help of a naval architect, we designed our first boat. Throughout this process we have the following goals in mind: To solve problems related to the pipeline. To provide an excellent experience and maximum safety for our passengers on higher seas.
Make the boat stronger and avoid water entering the hull. TY-700 Achziv boat Years of men’s experience, and a month of work led us to build our first RIB model, “TY-700 Achziv”. The word spread in no time and many requests to purchase our boat came. A surprising fact was that many of the customers showed great interest in our tubes and its unique technology: welded TPU instead of HYPELON or glued PVC. We use fabrics made from the best materials on the market, materials that can provide an excellent answer in terms of strength and UV resistance. It is known that this particular fabric is widely used by the US Coast Guard and Israeli Marine Police boats. Why stop here…. With this knowledge, we turned to other industries, white water rafts. We were amazed to see that many of the rafting companies face the same tubing problems with their inflatable rafts.
Today we are dealing with one of the largest raft sailing suppliers in Israel, replacing hundreds of their rafts, and look forward to continuing to work with the local market with the same approach of the best welded TPU. We continue our journey in search of new technologies that can push us to provide the best products to our customers, and we are confident that we can change the market in the way that RIBs, tubes and rafts should be for everyone, safer, lighter and much more colorful.
